RPSC Librarian Recruitment 2024 Eligibility

• Graduate or equivalent examination recognized by UGC with degree or diploma in Library Science recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education/ Government.
• Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.

RPSC Librarian Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

• The Examination shall carry 400 marks.
• There will be two papers.
• Both Papers shall be of 200 marks each.

Paper-I

• Duration of question paper will be 2:00 Hours.
• The question paper will carry maximum 200 marks.
• The question paper will carry 100 questions of multiple choices.
• Negative marking shall be applicable in the evaluation of answers. For every wrong answer one third of the marks prescribed for that particular question shall be deducted.
• The minimum qualifying marks shall be 40%. Provided that the percentage fixed as above shall be relaxed by 5% for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
• Paper shall include following subjects:

1. Geographical, Historical, Cultural and general knowledge of Rajasthan.
2. Current Affairs of Rajasthan
3. General knowledge of world and India
4. Educational Psychology.

Paper-II: Knowledge Organization, Informative Processing and Retrieval

• The question paper will carry maximum 200 marks.
• Duration of question paper will be 2:00 Hours.
• The question paper will carry 100 question of multiple choices.
• Negative marking shall be applicable in the evaluation of answers. For every wrong answer one third of the marks prescribed for that particular question shall be deducted.

1. Universe of knowledge. Structure and Attributes, Modes of formation of subjects, Different types of subjects, Universe of subjects as mapped in different schemes of Classification.
2. Bibliographic description. Catalog purpose, structure and types physical forms including OPAC filling rules. Normative principles of cataloging. Overview of principles of practice in document description. Current trends in standardization, description and exchange. Standard code of cataloging.
3. Methods of knowledge organization. General theory of Library classification. Normative principles of classification and their applications. Species of Library classification. Standard schemes of classification and their features, CC, DDC, UDC.
4. Notation need, functions, characteristics. Design and development of schemes library classification, standard sub-division index. Trends in Library classification.
5. Subject Classification, Principles of subject classification. Subject heading lists and their features.

How to Apply RPSC Librarian Online Form 2023?

• The application for online registration will be hosted on the RPSC website from 20 Feb 2024.
• Applications will be received online only.
• Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an online Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.
• E-mail ID of the applicant is to be given in the application compulsorily.
• The last date for submitting online application is 20 March 2024.
